Why is the brand name AsynRoamCoop?
Our vision is to use wireless technology to automate outdoor operations.
Outdoor automation is much harder than indoor automation and comes with many constraints. Two of the most fundamental are energy supply and power efficiency. Without solving both, meaningful outdoor automation is impossible.
To keep outdoor devices running reliably for long periods, we use an asynchronous connectivity approach - "Asyn". Instead of staying online continuously, a device connects to the network at regular intervals, which greatly reduces power consumption.
For our chicken coop door, this means connecting to the internet once every 10 minutes and staying connected for about 40 seconds. During this connection period, the door checks the cloud for pending tasks, receives and executes commands, and then disconnects again to save energy.
When the door is connected to the internet, the Blue LED stays solid on. When it is not connected, including while it is sleeping between connection cycles, the Blue LED is off. This is expected behavior.
If you send an open, close, or scheduled command from the App while the door is offline, the command is stored in the cloud with a pending status. It remains pending until the next connection cycle, when the door receives and executes it.
This asynchronous connection method provides remote control while using much less power, making long-term outdoor operation practical. That is why we chose the name AsynRoamCoop: it accurately expresses how the product works and the vision behind it.
