Why does it take minutes to execute my open or close commands?

Wi-Fi lets you send commands to your chicken coop door from anywhere, at any time. But the Wi-Fi feature is power hungry: staying connected all day would quickly drain the battery. That is not practical for an outdoor device powered by a 4000mAh battery.

To save power, your coop door connects to the internet once every 10 minutes and stays connected for about 40 seconds each time.

If you send an open or close command while the device is offline, your command is saved and stays pending until the next connection. During this time, the device card shows:

OPEN SOON — your open command is waiting to be carried out.

CLOSE SOON — your close command is waiting to be carried out.

Your coop door will carry out the command when it next connects to the internet. Depending on when you send the command, the wait can be up to 10 minutes.

To see exactly how much time is left, tap the bell icon in the top-right corner of the Home page.

20. “OPEN SOON”? So how long exactly does it take?
